The online banking industry has seen an increase in fraudulent activity over the last several
months. With key loggers, virus attacks and phishing scams becoming more prevalent, are
you doing all you can to protect yourself from becoming a victim of fraud?
For the past several years, there has been a lot of focus on identity theft. While very serious
and very damaging, there are many other ways that the “bad guys” can wreak havoc on
your life and your finances. Many cyber criminals, also referred to as fraudsters, don’t want
to steal your identity in the traditional sense. They don’t want to get a credit card or a
mortgage or a checking account in your name and live their life off your good credit history.
They simply want to take your money and move on to the next victim.

tips to ensure that you have a happy banking experience:
1. Banks will never call you asking for your PIN, OTP, Password, etc.
2. Never login to your banking website via shared URL
3. Don’t share and submit details about your Debit/Credit card on any unknown
website or URL
4. Use strong passwords, and not the easy ones like your mother’s name, pet’s name,
date of birth, etc.
5. Do all the banking transactions keeping your online security on mind.
6. Never use public or free Wi-Fi while doing any banking transaction
7. Never keep easy passwords like, 123456, abc123, etc
